Takashi Tateno

Takashi Tatenowas born in Japan. He received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in biophysical engineering from Osaka University in 1992, 1994, and 1999, respectively.

In 1994, he joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, where he was engaged in neuroscience research. Since 1999, he has been based at Osaka University. From 2002 to 2004, he was a visiting researcher at the Department of Physiology, University of Cambridge, U.K. From 2007 to 2011, he was an associate professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University. He was an associate professor at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Osaka University from June to November, 2011. Since then, he has been a professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University. His current research interests include neural control engineering for medical applications.

He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, the Japanese Society for Mathematical Biology, the Japan Neuroscience Society, and the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
